Art
Art is a great form of expression for our students; it allows them to explore their creativity whilst using their imagination.
We encourage artistic development through the use of resources which further develop their talents and creative thinking.
The locality is a great source of interest for us, we are lucky to be very near beautiful landscapes and have access to local museums and galleries which we feel enrich the minds of our children.
The children in our school are in a happy place when immersed in art, it promotes positive well- being through the different forms of creativity.
Art is taught in blocks at the beginning of each term, carefully thought out skills are developed through the school and evidence is shown in individual work sketchbooks. Where possible the art is linked to the relevant topic area and we also study a relevant artist or architect in each year group.
Every child within our school has their own sketchbook to show their development of skills, this has taken with them throughout their school journey.
